That gap created a lot of movement while on the freeway. The metal they use for the latch is too small in diameter so once you adjust it to actually be long enough to latch, you may end up with some “play” where the hood doesn’t sit snuggly and you can lift it up an eighth of an inch with your finger tips. The biggest issue was getting the hood to sit tightly when latched.
I had to use screws for the washer nozzles otherwise the opening was too large and the clips wouldn’t stay. You’ll need a drill and patience to create the opening for the windshield washer bracket and running the washer lines inside the hood. I’m sure individual experiences vary but in order to get mine to sit right I had to use washers on the hood hinges to get the hood to sit flush with the fenders. Less mandatory drilling required for the hood vs the trunk but the hood required a lot of adjusting to get fitment right. If I could give a second rating for the hood itself, I’d give it 3 or 4 stars. HRS delivered as promised…actually earlier than expected.
